S2-212: Fun and Easy Steps in Basic Drawing4 weeks Level 1 Instructor: Diana Lee
Wednesdays, 9:30am to 12:30pm
In this class Diana introduces you to the basic elements of drawing. She will help train your brain so you can visualize ordinary objects in a different manner, allowing you to see through the eyes of an artist. Learn the concepts of line, shape, form, space, value, and composition. Understand the role of different pencil grades to create depth, light and shade, proportion, and perspective. Study methods for accurate drawings from photographs and still life. It will be a fun approach to basic drawing skills -the only requirements are a few basic supplies and a willingness to try!

If you have always wanted to try watercolour but been afraid to, or become discouraged, take heart! In this class Diana will teach you all the techniques, tools and tricks to start you on your way to becoming the watercolour artist you have always wanted to be. Learn the basics of watercolour painting including—paint, brush, paper, value, colour mixing, wash, wet-in-wet, wet-over-dry. Gain an understanding of how colour moves, layering, light, and composition.A wonderful opportunity to gain quality insights and dispel your fears as you venture into the beautiful world of watercolour painting. Lots of demos and individual attention.

In this drawing course, we explore the foundations and techniques for creating wonderful realistic drawings with pencil. Build on your drawing skills by mastering the principles of using line, tone, light, texture, composition, spatial depth and perspective. Diana breaks down each aspect of drawing into easy to follow segments complete with drawing demonstrations. Train your eye to realistically render form and gain a new understanding of weight, balance, the effects of light and shadow. Learn to trust the connection between hand and eye. This class is designed for those who want an opportunity to become better drawers with strong technical skills.

Watercolour is a beautiful medium with its soft layers, delicate strokes and luminous washes, but it can be unforgiving. In this class Diana teaches aspiring artists everything they need to know about painting in watercolour. She provides step-by-step guidance in a variety of subjects and painting techniques, including creating washes, mixing colours, creating soft blends, rendering realistic textures, and working wet-into-wet. Awaken your inner artist in this fun, informative class! Lots of demos and individual attention
